This was my first visit for the Scottish Superbikes series. I’d planned, but was unable to attend East Fortune Raceway for the previous round; the organisers can’t segregate spectators from competitors in line with COVID guidance or fulfil track and trace requirements. Next year hopefully!
A two day event I could only make it for the first day. Thankfully the earlier light drizzle stayed away for the Scottish superbikes. The race was a closely fought contest at the front between Greg Gilfillan (Suzuki GSX-R1000R) and Callum Grigor (Kawasaki ZX10RR). However it came to a premature end when the red flag came out after they collided at the hairpin.

Both riders fell heavily and awkwardly. As usual the marshals and medics quickly and efficiently attended to both riders. Unfortunately Greg Gilfillan sustained heavy bruising and has a suspected fracture of his knee-cap. Callum Grigor appeared badly winded but was able to compete on Sunday.
